Cahaba was the first permanent state capital of Alabama from 1820 to 1825. Located in Dallas County, southwest of Selma, Cahaba was once a thriving and industrious town. On the eve of the American Civil War, more than 3000 people called Cahaba home. Its low elevation at the confluence of two large rivers gave it a reputation for flooding. A major flood struck the town in 1825, causing a portion of the statehouse to collapse. Cahaba is now a ghost town and state historic site.
A great piece for the young band. This one is to be enjoyed by one and all. You will be humming this tune for a long time..so will the audience.
If you are going to give a spring concert, you must a have a spring concert march featuring the spring family. What can we say, it is a perfect march for your young players. Feature your administrator or coach at the trio using springs (everyone's favorite spring toy) for their solo.
For anyone who has had a school cafeteria meal. Always guessing what type of meat was served. Full of laughs!!
Invite your superintendent, principal, coach, etc. to be a guest conductor for your concert. You will need 3 guest soloists, 3 plastics SML; 3 different mallets; bb's; marbles. and then the fun begins.
